To login successfully through Mobile for Jira, you need to follow the below steps

Step#1: To check before Login

  1. Ensure Internet Connectivity: Confirm you are connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or Mobile Data.

  2. Access to Internal Systems: If the Jira is hosted internally, connect to your company’s network and verify access through a browser.

  3. Proxy or Certificate Requirements: If the network uses a proxy or certificate authority, coordinate with your IT department to configure your device appropriately.

  4. VPN Configuration: For networks requiring VPN access, ensure you have the correct VPN setup by consulting with your IT administrator.


Step#2: Locate your Jira URL

Jira URL is the link you use in the browser to access your Jira instance

If you don't know what is your Jira URL ask your IT or Jira Admin



Step#3: Login into the App

Now you've located your Jira URL, and you need to know whether to click on Login or SSO | Login using Web

When to use "Login"

If your Jira instance forwards to the built-in Jira login solution and doesn't ask for 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) or MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)

When to use "SSO | Login using Web"

If your Jira instance forwards to other apps to login as Microsoft ADFS, OKTA, OneLogin, Google Login... or your Jira instance requires 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) or MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) then you need to use SSO | Login using Web this will redirect you to your company's SSO solution where you can login as you usually do from the browser, and after a successful login, you'll be redirected to Mobile for Jira (no further steps are needed)


Follow these steps in case you clicked on "Login"

Add your Jira Cloud URL and click on Login

Enter the email that you usually use to access the Jira Cloud Instance

In case you already have an API Token you can use it and click on Login, if not generate one by clicking on Generate Token

  1. Once you click on Generate Token you'll be redirected to Manage Tokens page
  2. In case you're redirected to the Atlassian Jira Login page, add your credentials and login
  3. Click on the Create API Token button
  4. Give a name to that token (ex: MobileForJira) and click on Create
  5. Copy the Token and save it in a place to be used later
  6. Close the Generate Token to return back to Mobile for Jira
  7. Paste the copied Token in the Token field
  8. Click on Login

Access Jira from the web, and look into the URL field, it is similar to the examples below:

If you don't know whats your Jira DC URL ask your IT or Jira Admin

Enter your Username & Password that you usually use to access the Jira DC Instance
