Outlook to JIRA allow users to save time by configuring roles. The goal of Roles is to auto populate the project name and the issue type based on the sender email when creating new or creating from email. for example : If the user is Alain, the project and the issuetype should be X and Y.

Configure a role

To add new role please follow the below steps:

  • Click on Outlook to JIRA tab
  • Click on New Role

  • Fill in the fields with the sender email, default project and issue type
  • Click on Save

Check the good functionality of the role by trying to create a new issue from an email which the sender is OTJ@infosysta.com and check that the project and issue type are predefined

 

Edit a Role

To add an existing role please follow the below steps:

  • Click on Outlook to JIRA tab
  • Click on View Role
  • Localize the role to edit in the list
  • Click on edit 

 

Delete a role

To delete an existing role please follow the below steps:

  • Click on Outlook to JIRA tab
  • Click on View Role
  • Localize the role to delete
  • Click on Remove
