Learn how to log in to Mobile for Jira using the two the basic login process and through SSO authentication.
Before you start!
- Make sure that you're connected to the internet through Wi-Fi or Mobile Data.
- If your Jira instance is not published publicly, ensure you're connected to your company's network. (Try your phone browser to be sure that you're able to reach your Jira instance).
- If your company's network has a Proxy or any Certificate authority, please liaise with your IT admin to apply the needed configuration on your device.
- If your company's network requires any VPN configuration, please liaise with your IT Admin to share with you the needed configuration.
Basic Login
Follow these steps:
- Click on the Basic label
- Enter your site URLÂ
- You can copy/paste the URL displayed in your browser for example in our case it is https://css.infosysta.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa.
- You can enter your base URL as jira.exmple.com or https://jira.exmple.com.
- Your site might contain a context path, so you need to enter it as jira.exmple.com/jira or https://jira.exmple.com/jira.
- If your instance is on the Atlassian Cloud, you can enter the URL as example.atlassian.net.
- Click on validate URL
- Once it's validated, the username and password field will appear
- Enter your username and passwordÂ
With regards to the changes Atlassian made regarding the login process to support GDPR technology, you can now log in through Cloud instances that comply with the new changes.
Cloud Login
Follow these steps:
- Enter your Cloud instance base URL
- Click the validate URL button
- A pop-up will appear asking you to generate an API token
- Click on Generate a token (or Cancel if you already have one)Â
- Select the browser you want
- It will ask you to login with your Atlassian credentials
- When you log in, you'll be redirected to Atlassian token manager
- Click Create API token
- Choose a name for it, then copy it (it's better to save this token inside a note application since you'll need it later in case you're logged out and need to log in again)
- Return to the app
- Paste the API token inside the field asking for it
- Enter your email and you're done!
SSO Login
Follow these steps:
- Click on SSO label
- The username and password fields will disappear
- Copy the link you usually use to log in to your instance from the web browser
- Paste it in URL field
- Click Log in
- You'll be redirected to your instance to login (This process may take a few minutes for your site to load)
SSO is implemented to support single-sign-on login such as ADFS, OKTA, OneLogin.
If the feature still didn't work
If you're still not able to login after these steps, kindly click on *Not able to login!, click to send log file* from Mobile for Jira's login screen. Please make sure that there is a file attached to be able to troubleshoot.
