Question: What are the Security Ports and Connections with Jira from Mobile for Jira?
Communication between Mobile for Jira and Jira is done over Jira's REST APIs that are published in this documentation, https://docs.atlassian.com/jira/REST/cloud/.
Our application supports Server and Cloud instances, and to make sure our app works correctly with your instance, you need to ensure the following:
- If your organization has a firewall, you need to open the following ports: 5228, 5229, and 5230 to unlock this feature
(You can refer to this link for further details FCM Ports), these ports are used by FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
NOTE: If you're not interested in push notifications, you can turn them off from Mobile for Jira's settings with the following steps:
- Navigate to Add-ons in your Jira Administration
- Under Mobile for Jira tab, click on Notification Settings
- Click on the icon for no notifications
- Click Submit
As for the internal Proxy, users need to configure it using these steps:
For Android Devices:
- Navigate to Settings
- Click on Wi-Fi
- Check your Wi-Fi Network and hold
- Select Modify network config
- Check Show advanced options
- Configure the Proxy according to your implemented one
For iOS Devices:
- Navigate to Settings
- Click on Wi-Fi
- Click on your Wi-Fi Network
- At the bottom of the Network's details, you can check and configure the HTTP PROXY
For a successful login, users need to configure the following:
Basic Login:
- Enter your username
(You can get your username from your profile page in Jira). - Enter your password
(Make sure that there are no special characters since Basic Login doesn't support special characters). - Enter your Jira URL
(For example https://jira.com or https://jira.com/jira or https://jira.atlassian.net).
SSO Login
- Enter your Jira URL
(For example https://jira.com or https://jira.com/jira or https://jira.atlassian.net). - You'll be redirected to the SSO Login page, or to your normal Jira login page
- Use the credentials that you normally use in Jira
